Today we're rolling with the group. PatDaddy and C-Bum took off first after the quick photoshoot at the Red Cliffs Lodge parking lot while the rest of us went to get gas. So we had some catching up to do.

But at least today we got to play with the GTR, the BMW crew, and the 350Z's. >: )  Time to show them what the Volvo can really do.

Along the way, people started falling off for gas and other things. No stopping for me. Man I love that fuel cell. hahahaha

Since I wasn't stopping I was able to catch up to the Buscuit crew. Woot! Totally running out front of everyone but the GTR and the Ferrari. (I would hope those two would be able to beat us! If not there's a problem. haha)

Pretty uneventful day. Came across Alex who had gotten pinched by the local 5-0 in a speed zone that dropped to 55mph. Turns out that same cop stopped Justin later in the day and they talked bikes for about 30 minutes. hey, whatever gets you out of a ticket, right!

While rolling into Salt Lake we heard over the cb that the highway was closed due to an accident. So we started scrambling to get off the highway and on a different route. Turns out everyone else was trying to do the same thing. Wink  So as we pull off and make a few turns, only to go through a green light to see all the other drivers sitting at the same light on red waiting to get through.

The race is on!

No way I was letting a bunch of Corvettes beat me to the hotel!

Advanced Mode. DSTC off. Downshift. Look for the holes and plan my moves so I don't get boxed in. Time to run it hard, fast, and safe.

Whipping lanes at 100+, passing, cutting two lanes in a shot to get the open hole... anything to keep the Vette's in my rearview mirrors.

They've got more horsepower than me, so I've got to out drive them.

It can only be described as intense. Smiley

Of course, racing ona public highway like this doesn't come without consequences. The cb started to light up and trukers were talking about the "race cars" running up the highway. Not a good thing.

So I throw on the breaks and back it down. I manage to make the right exit to the hotel with Justin on his Ducati right behind me. The Vette guys missed the exit and had to go up a few more to get to where we had to be. Once we were off the highway it would come down to who would miss the most red lights. Now's the time I wish I had made myself a MIRT...

Racing through the streets being as safe as possible, stopping for red lights. Seconds are ticking! I so want to beat the Vette guys!

Last turn into the hotel.

As I'm turning in, I KNOW I'm not going to get in on the angle I'm at without tearing off my front splitters. So I had to back up to readjust. While I'm backing up, who comes up but Dale in his Z06 to cut me off for the win. Too bad he didn't realize how steap the entry way was because you could hear the nose of his car scrape! haha... So I guess I didn't win the race, but at least I didn't damage my car. hahaha...

Hopping out of the car all Dale can say to the group of people at the hotel is "Man this guy can fucking drive!" lol. Just the response I was looking for. Smiley Cause in the end it all comes down to how you drive what you've got, and how hard you're willing to push it.

Checked in to the hotel, Dale and I skip out to the go kart track. I rolled with him in his Z06. Nice car and AMAZING power. Not really my style though since the interior felt small and cramped. Kinda like an S2000. Guess i'm being spoiled by the Volvo. Wink haha

We're first to the go kart track, a completely indoors track! Talk about cool. After a while Jason and a few other guy show up, so we talk the guy into giving us a few extra practice laps. >: ) Every little edge helps.

The track was awesome! Super slick and the go karts were fast enough to slide around corners. Not the best thing for a fast time, but lots of fun.

Durring the prelims I managed to set a fast lap and made into the semi finals for the competition we were having. Durring the semi's I got into a major accident that totally killed my chances of advancing. lol... I think I was the only one that day to almost flip a kart. haha... At least it was in front of the glass where the camera crew was, so hopefully you'll all get to see it. lol

The crash totally messed me up, so when we got back I crashed out instead of going out to dinner. Sounded like I missed a good time, doing body shots off girls, butter fights, table dances, etc. Oh well, it's for the best so I can save my energy for the next stop.

Next stop... Vegas.
